I had one of the THE most amazing opportunities most people don't even get a chance to have. I received a call from Oscar Rabeiro asking if I was interested in shooting a girl for Maxim, immediately I said yes of coarse. It just so happened the girl who was shooting had to reschedule. Well I told Oscar I had this BEAUTIFUL model in mind, who happens to be an amazing friend and model of mine, Alexandra Victoria. Without question Oscar said set it up! As I did and we ended up with an off the charts shoot! Not only a great shoot but a few weeks later we find out MAXIM LOVED the shoot and asked Alexandra for an interview. MAXIM does not usually credit makeup artists but thanks to Oscar he pulled a few strings for me and got my name and company published. Thank you so much for that and your skills Oscar. Thank you so much Alexandra Victoria for working your talent for the camera and creating beautiful images for the world to see. MAXIM January is out now on stands in Europe, South and Central American and America in March-April. Be sure to pick up a copy!

Important lessons I’ve learned over the last week: Connections are everywhere and don’t wear heels to a detailed location shoot. Allow me to back up a bit.
Hi, my name is Alyssa Fisher and I’m the new blogger for OMG! Artistry. Olivia and I met while she teased my hair to perfection for a prom-themed fashion show at my high school on January 12. As I sat in her chair, I watched my avant-garde look come together, prompting me to gush over my love for editorial fashion. This eventually led me to mention my dream of becoming a fashion journalist, something Olivia took interest in.
We were perfect for each other: She was a makeup artist/hair stylist looking for a blogger/stylist and I was the Editor in Chief of my high school’s newsmagazine who was looking for some styling experience and clips. Now I’ve joined her team, where I tag along on photo shoots, do a little styling and tell all of you about it after.
Friday was my first time at a photo shoot. It was a Teacher Planning day, so I drove to Miramar and arrived at Erika Delgado’s gorgeous, Mexican-inspired home. Meeting her was fantastic; not only was she effortlessly beautiful, but also I was a huge fan of her photographs.
After only a few minutes speaking to Erika, I started to rethink the wedding plans I’ve had since I was a little girl. She explained that the bridal-themed shoot was all about creating a DIY wedding that was simple and intimate yet elegant and special. I looked around and saw the unique, rugged accessories Erika filmed earlier - glass bottles, wood accents, a mouthwatering red velvet cake and an antique-inspired chest. I'm sure the wedding website she plans to submit the photos to will fawn over the details.
The field we were shooting at made me forget we were even in Florida. The ground was hard, rocky and covered with plants that could easily be mistaken for wheat [Note to self: Don't wear wedges!]. Erika was able to manipulate her surroundings and make you feel like the bride was getting married in the romantic wheat field in the Estée Lauder commercial. The model Naomi looked stunning in a Francesca's thigh-length ivory dress. The embellished petal sleeves added the whimsical, vintage vibe Erika was going for. Olivia created soft curls in Naomi's honey, almost strawberry blond hair and gave her a natural glow with Urban Decay's Naked palette.
Naomi's movements were natural and fluid, and she held her homemade bouquet of baby's breath and wheat-like plants (both plucked from the field) in the happy, playful manner Erika loved. The two "bridesmaids" soon came dressed in different Venetian red dresses from Francesca's and were each accessorized with a crystal drop necklace and the same soft, natural curls Naomi donned.
The afternoon wrapped up with glitter and a golden setting sun. Erika was raving over how perfectly Naomi fit the shoot, from her naturally playful poses to the small bird tattoo on her wrist. I had a blast being a part of it all and meeting such talented people who's dreams were as big as mine. Now I can't wait to see what Olivia and I are going to do next.

All my brides should check this printable guide to everything she will need and more on her wedding day. There are a lot of little things that are not thought of when it comes to this special day. One of my favorites that NO one thinks of is the drinking straws. Saves me from doing more touch ups than I need to. ;)

1. BAND-AIDS: Fix the ring bearer’s boo boo or a bridesmaid’s blister.
2. BREATH MINTS: Chewing gum doesn’t look good on anybody.
3. CLEAR NAIL POLISH: Stop that run in your stockings…or the MOB’s stockings, anyway.
4. BOBBY PINS: Dancing messes up your up-do.
5. TISSUES: Daddy’s little girl is getting married!
6. DEODORANT: Someone’s gonna need it.
7. WHITE NAIL POLISH: *If the bride has a french manicure. If not, pack their color.
8. LOTION: No ashy elbows or knees in those pictures, ladies!
9. ASPIRIN: It’s gonna be a looooong day.
10. COMPACT MIRROR: For quick touch-ups.
11. HAIR SPRAY: Can someone say, “Flyaways?”
12. ANTACID: See #9.
13. DRINKING STRAWS: Sip drinks without messing up your lipstick.
14. LINT ROLLER: The boys will probably need this…and not a single one of them will bring one.
15. SNACKS: For Heaven’s sake please don’t forget to eat!
16. EYE DROPS: See #12.
17. SAFETY PINS: Last-minute fix to any misbehaving outfits or boutonnieres!
18. STAIN REMOVER: If the worst should happen, BE READY.
19. WATER: Make sure everyone stays hydrated. It’s best for pics AND the next morning :)
20. STATIC GUARD: Especially with light fabrics like chiffon, this is a must!
21. SEWING KIT: Emergency button repair.
